Our History

Ebenezer Baptist Church began in 1828 with twenty devoted members on the serene banks of Gum Creek and Flint River near Huheneins’ Ferry.

• May 9, 1828: The church was officially constituted by Brothers H. Dykes and Isaac Norris.
• 1860: Services were relocated to a new site.
• 1869: The church found its permanent home on land generously donated by Mr. William Slade, Sr.
